Vet inspection for Pierata on Tramway eve
Tramway Stakes favourite Pierata will have to pass a veterinary inspection to take his place in the Group Two race.
Trainer Greg Hickman has told stewards on Friday the horse is mildly lame after swelling was detected in his near foreleg on Thursday night.
Racing NSW chief veterinary officer Dr Toby Koenig will inspect Pierata on Friday afternoon.
The lameness was judged as 0.5/5.
Pierata, who beat Kementari to win the Missile Stakes earlier this month, is shading Le Romain for favouritism in Saturday’s 1400m-race.
