Two Queensland horses return positives to cocaine

An Ipswich trainer will face a stewards’ inquiry after two of the horses he trains returned positive samples to cocaine.

It has been confirmed that in two separate incidents in June this year at thoroughbred racetracks in Toowoomba and Gatton, two of the trainers’ horses returned samples which upon analysis showed the presence of cocaine to be in their systems.

Queensland Racing Integrity Commission stewards are continuing their investigations, with an inquiry set to commence on September 14, 2023.
