Twitter punters have their say ahead of William Reid Stakes
Heading into the final stages of the week punters are focused on two races before the huge weekend of action at Rosehill Gardens – The Albury Gold Cup and Friday night’s Group One William Reid Stakes.
Punters get a taste of one of the best country race meets in Australia during the day before getting the opportunity to punt on the final group one race of the Victorian season.
We took a look at what Twitter had to say in the lead up to the two feature races and let the punters tell the story.
Albury Gold Cup set to go ahead despite rainy weather
The good news for racing fans on the border is that the $850,000 Albury Gold Cup Carnival is going ahead in spite of the inclement weather.

The field packed to capacity with class runners and one punter is happy he took the early odds on a Lee and Anthony Freedman-trained runner that is expected to be in the finish on Friday.

William Reid Stakes
The final group one of the season in Victoria takes place at Moonee Valley on Friday night and there is plenty of quality that will be running around in the $500,000 race.
After impressing on the track throughout the week, an old favourite was confirmed for Friday night’s feature.
Trainer @GaryPortelli says Rebel Dane worked the house down on Saturday morning and will certainly run in Fri nights William Reid Moonee V.

And punters are optimistic the old boy can perform on the night.
@snowbet Tomorrow William Reid looks very competitive, Rebel Dane? Maybe Sheidel? How does it look to you?
— Arthur Klianis (@ArthurKlianis) March 23, 2017
Not everyone will be cheering on Rebel Dane home however.
The team at Moonee Valley are hoping a particular runner gets up on Friday night to save them a bit of extra work heading into the weekend.
