Jockey Tom Sadler has broken his leg in a freak accident in a steeplechase at Casterton.
Jockey Tom Sadler will have surgery after suffering a broken leg in a freak accident in a jumps race in Victoria.
Sadler was kicked as he and his horse went past a fallen horse in a steeplechase at Casterton on Sunday.
The jockey suffered a fractured tibia and was scheduled for surgery in Melbourne on Monday.
“Unfortunately yesterday i broke my leg from the hoof of a fallen horse. Thanks to all for texts and calls, heading to Epworth soon for surgery. Trying to explain how i broke my leg without having a fall is as painful as the break, see ya next season” Sadler said on Twitter on Monday morning.
