quaddie tips

THE midweek quaddie returns to Hawkesbury this Thursday where there are some handy midweek thoroughbreds in action.

The final leg will likely be the most exciting for punters as it has some good middle distance form and it should be a tightly-contested affair.

We have form and free tips for the Hawkesbury quaddie and punters can get big quaddie payouts with Ladbrokes.com.au.

Race 5 – Hawkesbury Maiden Handicap (1300m)

Bye See should be well-favoured in the betting after running second at Randwick last start. The Michael Tubman-trained filly finished only a nose behind the talented I Thought So in February and that form should stack up nicely for this. The daughter of Sebring does rise significantly in weight to 58kg, but there’s little exposed form in this race and it should have the advantage.

Lattimer started the campaign off well with a placing behind Garbhan on this track, but it has mixed its form since. The locally-trained three-year-old has subsequently placed in only one from three starts, which also included a last-placed finish at Wyong last start. It gets in with a good weight of 56.5kg which will help and it should run well on its home track.

Leg 1 tips: 3, 5

Race 6 – G&K Electrical C2 Handicap (1300m)

Go Benny was extremely disappointing last start at Rosehill, but it has been given a good break and it should resume with a nice effort. The Garry Frazer-trained gelding found rating 77 grade too tough in the city after winning back-to-back races at Beaumont. This is a more suitable level of racing and the addition of Hugh Bowman in the saddle will take it a long way. We’re expecting bookmakers to offer each way odds.

Punters can never rule out a Godolphin runner and the powerhouse has Pleased in this. The son of Street Cry was a winner on debut at Hawkesbury which reads well for this, but it did struggle in two runs at Canterbury since. The three-year-old didn’t handle the heavy track conditions last start, but it was only 2.5 lengths behind the winner. There was plenty of merit in that run and it should be able to find a good spot with James Doyle in the saddle from the wide draw.

We’re including Legislation because it’s trained on this track and it’s had good success there. The five-year-old has won two from 10 starts on its home track and it wasn’t far behind them when fourth last start. It’s fresh up here and is worth including in quaddie bets.

Leg 2 tips: 1, 3, 6

Race 7 – Micway Cold Logistics Solutions Plate (1500m)

Calabash Express is a perennial placegetter which has finished second in five of its 10 starts. The Martin Mcinerney-trained gelding has been knocking on the door its last two starts and it went down by under a length last time out. The four-year-old son of Excites has form on both dry and rain-affected tracks so include it in quaddie bets here.

John Sargent lines up debutante Cosmic Turbulence which should attract some attention in the market. The three-year-old filly by Shinzig is bred to handle any moisture in the track and having James Collett in the saddle is a positive. Follow any positive betting moves with this runner.

Leg 3 tips: 1, 8

Race 8 – Claredon Tavern Handicap (2000m)

Classic Records has been producing good efforts all campaign and it’s a must-include here. The Gary Moore-trained gelding was a 4.5-length winner at Wyong four starts back and it has since scored a narrow win on this track in March. Its most recent run was a second placing at Warwick Farm behind Nothing Box, which is good form for midweek grade and it gets the inside draw to work with.

There was plenty to like about the run of Paragon at Warwick Farm last start. The Sargent-trained gelding battled on gamely to only be narrowly tipped out by More Energy. Its run prior came behind Big Duke in the Manion Cup, but this is much easier and it has three wins on a soft track. It’s yet to win here in seven starts, but it could add some value at each way odds.

Punters had to like to win of Lookin’ At You at Goulburn last start. The four-year-old had Hugh Bowman in the saddle last start and it was able to put almost two lengths on its rivals. Its form prior included a second placing behind Classic Records and it gets in here with a nice weight. Include for some value.

Leg 4 tips: 2, 5, 7
