Terang takes centre stage for racing in Victoria on Sunday afternoon when the track hosts the Terang Cup as part of their eight race card. Big fields are the story of the day, and the team at horsebetting.com.au bring to you the best bets, top odds and quaddie selections for the meeting set to be run on a Soft 5, with the rail in the true position. Racing on Terang Cup day is set to get underway from 1pm.
Terang Cup Best Bet
Our best comes up in the Terang Cup, where the classy Heart Of Puissance returns to Victoria following his demolition job at Warwick Farm on March 31. He was victorious on that day by an eased down 4.5 lengths despite a noticeable betting drift. His racing pattern tends to leave him requiring a bit of luck in the running as he opts to settle in the second half of the field more often than not. From barrier 13, expect jockey Harry Coffey to settle him towards the rear of the field and there looks to be no excuses as to why Heart Of Puissance can not bring up consecutive wins on the back of a genuine tempo.

Next Best Of The Day
The Archie Alexander-trained Dirt On Harry has made a perfect start to his career win both starts at a nice each-way price. At Terang he is set to go around as a short-priced favourite and looks well placed to continue his perfect record. Logan McNeil hops on board, and with the young apprentice’s 2kg claim he drops to 59.5kg, just 2.5kg above the minimum weight. From barrier 11, we expect McNeil to have the four-year-old gelding in a prominent position throughout the running, and with a bit of luck early on, he should be too good for this BM64 field.

Best Value Bet
Trainer Pat McKenna has only ever had a runner of his in the winner’s stall on one occasion in his brief training career, but we expect the stable to double that number on Sunday. Two starts back the mare was beaten 3.5 lengths by the handy Staredown when finished second, but put enough of a gap on her rivals to suggest she will be competitive here at Terang. Expect Jarrod Fry to use barrier three to his advantage and have the mare in the first half of the field and be presenting here at the right time.
