Tegan Harrison retains Siren’s Fury ride

The first thing Tegan Harrison did after she unsaddled recent Scone winner Siren’s Fury was to ask for the ride if the mare came to Brisbane.

Harrison had just produced a super ride to win the Group Three Dark Jewel on Siren’s Fury for Sydney trainer Jason Coyle.

“It was a good win and I thought Jason would be looking at Brisbane,” Harrison said.

“Jason has a reputation for being loyal to his jockeys, so I put my hand up.”

Coyle had hoped to get Siren’s Fury into the Group One Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) on Saturday but, after failing to make the field, the mare will tackle the Group Two Dane Ripper Stakes over the same distance at Doomben on Saturday.

Siren’s Fury drew barrier 18 but rain in Brisbane on Thursday means the track will be wet so Harrison is hoping the draw will not be so important.

Coyle also has White Moss, who will be ridden by Kathy O’Hara, in the Dane Ripper while Jess Taylor will be on Slightly Sweet.
