Best Bet at Te Rapa – Shez Class
Shez Class is knocking on the door and put the writing on the wall last start when finishing a narrowly beaten runner up here on a heavy track. She should now be ready for the mile test and loses nothing with leading hoop Michael McNab replacing Opie Bosson in the saddle. She has a slightly better draw today and should gain some cover during the run. If she can be presented at the right time then she can claim that deserved maiden victory.

Next Best at Te Rapa – Lingjun Xiongfeng
The last race of the day is another even affair and we lean towards the top weight in Lingjun Xiongfeng as being the one to beat. He has turned a corner recently and made the most of a tactical ride by cutting the corner here last time out and then hitting the line strongly to claim second place, beaten only narrowly in a tough fight to the line. It may have been a long time between drinks for this fellow but he gets a lot in his favour on Saturday and should go very close to winning.

Best Value at Te Rapa – Tough Test Harry
Tough Test Harry backed up some strong trial form when winning at Rotorua on debut in what was a courageous effort. He showed that he still had a lot to learn that day but knuckled down and stuck to his task gamely. He is back to the races fairly quickly which is always a good sign and the wide draw won’t be a problem by this time of the day. The way the James/Wellwood stable is travelling at the moment, there is no reason why he can’t make it two wins on the bounce.
