Te Rapa is hosting a 10-race program this Saturday, lined up on what is likely to be a Heavy surface with showers forecast on the day. The first race begins at 11:10am (NZST).
BEST BET AT TE RAPA: LIBRARSI
This three-year-old filly is stepping up to 1600m, which will suit, and she handles Heavy going, having run six times in those conditions for a win and three placings. Trainer Allan Sharrock has a good record on the track, and with apprentice jockey Donovan Cooper claiming 4kg on this improving filly, we’re confident she will be running home strongly from the middle of the pack to hopefully get her second win on the board.

NEXT BEST AT TE RAPA: KAI
The Mark Walker-trained Kai will be hoping to improve on his last-start fourth at Cambridge on June 24. He has good overall form and should be nearing peak fitness for this race. In-form jockey Kozzi Asano is doing the riding, the Heavy track will suit, and ideally from the barrier 10 he will be ridden in the first half of the field before sprinting home over the top of his rivals.
#5 Kai (10)BEST VALUE AT TE RAPA: IT’S MARGO
The Allan Sharrock-trained It’s Margo did her best work late at her last start and the step up to 2100m will be ideal. Her best form is on the Heavy track and there should be a good each-way price to be found with the best bookmakers. Kelsey Hannan’s 2kg claim only sweetens the deal.
