One of the two North Island meetings in New Zealand on Saturday will be held at Te Rapa with eight races carded, including the feature Travis Stakes at WFA over 2000 metres for fillies & mares. The track is rated as soft and with only light showers in the forecast a track upgrade is likely. The first race starts at 12.35pm (NZST)
Best Bet at Te Rapa – Accidental Tourist
The last start winning effort of Accidental Tourist was a run that had to been seen to be believed after missing the start by over five lengths and then still being that margin away at the half mile, before hooking wide and unleashing a sustained run to get up comfortably in the end. He managed to do provide that effort, even after lugging in down the home straight as well. With that being said, he obviously has more than one trick to him, but with the mile on Saturday being the ideal next step, he should be too good again.

Best Value at Te Rapa – Llanacord
The feature of the day is looking like a very even field headed up by the likely favourite Aromatic trained by Mark Walker who should be the hardest to beat. After her, there are numerous chances and it is where we find the value bet of the day in Llanacord who did not get all favours just six days ago at Awapuni over a mile and was making up a lot of ground late in the run. She might not win often, but does bob up in similar fields at a price. The key on Saturday will be the improved track conditions and a handy draw that should not see her get as far back as usual. If the breaks come her way, then she is more than capable of having the last say in this field.
