What Tamworth Races
Where Tamworth Jockey Club – 28 Britten Rd, Taminda NSW 2340
When Tuesday, June 8, 2021
First Race 12:55pm AEST

HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst has found three best bets and a quaddie for Tuesday’s seven-race program at Tamworth. The track is rated a Soft 7, and the rail is out 3m from the winning post to the 1400m, 3m from the 1000m to the 275m mark and 1m for the remainder of the course. The first race is set to jump at 12:55pm AEST.

Tamworth Best Bet: Demeurer

Three-year-old gelding Demeurer comes into this 1200m Benchmark 58 off a dominant win at Moree last start. The son of Smart Missile jumped well, led throughout and won by 3.5 lengths over 1200m. The Craig Martin runner has drawn perfectly in barrier three and gets the services of Andrew Gibbons, so the option to lead again should be served up on a silver platter. This is a nice race for the favourite to go back-to-back.

Best BetRace 6 – Demeurer (#5) $3.30 with Sportsbet

Tamworth Next Best: Rubic Honour

Cody Morgan and Dylan Gibbons combine in the final race of the day with four-year-old gelding Rubic Honour. The son of Rubick has had eight starts for two wins, with one of those coming at this track and trip when breaking his maiden three starts ago. He then went back-to-back, winning by three lengths at Dubbo in October, and recently returned with a solid fifth when beaten only one length at Muswellbrook. The gelding has a good record second-up and should appreciate getting to a track that he is familiar with. The wide barrier (11) is a slight query, but Gibbons’ 1.5kg claim brings him right into contention.

Next BestRace 7 – Rubic Honour (#2) $4 with Sportsbet

Tamworth Value Bet: Ziggi Rocks

Four-year-old gelding Ziggi Rocks has now had two runs for new trainer Mark Mason, with his most recent run seeing him just get run down to finish third, beaten 0.14 of a length. He was previously trained by Peter Fleming in Central Queensland and boasted some pretty handy form. The son of Excelebration is now third-up and stays at the 1400m, and Robert Thompson should be able to find the front from barrier 13 and go all of the way. The $7 appeals on an each-way basis.

Best ValueRace 5 – Ziggi Rocks (#9) $7 with Sportsbet
