Sydneysider Ravi confirms autumn potential

Sydney mare Ravi has confirmed trainer Peter Snowden’s belief she is a future Group horse with her win at Eagle Farm.

Starting favourite, Ravi ($2.25) scored by 3 1/4 lengths to Unequivocal ($7) in the Listed Just Now Quality.

Snowden had planned to send Ravi to Brisbane a fortnight ago but scratched her when she drew wide.

“As it turned out I probably should have left her in because wide barriers were not a problem that day,” Snowden said.,

“But she has got the job done now and she will have a rest before the autumn where she might even make a Group One mare,.”

Snowden said Ravi had enjoyed a good campaign apart from her pervious start defeat down teh Flemington straight.

“She just didn’t handle it. She was looking for corners the whole time.”

Snowden said the travel this campaign would make Ravi a stronger mare.

“But it is time for a rest now,” he said.

Trainer Noel Mayfield Smith is likely to press on with a northern campaign for Unequivocal.
