Swan Hill racing preview
An eight-race card is set down for judgement at Swan Hill on Tuesday afternoon. With the weather set fair and the track bordering on a Soft 5, we look set for a nice midweek meeting in Victoria’s north-west. The rail is in the true position the entire circuit, and the first race will face the starter at 1:30pm AEDT.
We’ll be looking to start the day on the right foot with a 3YO filly who looks extremely hard to beat in the 1200m opener. She was held up at a crucial point on debut at Geelong but still ran on strongly to finish second. She settled midfield in that race, but Harry Coffey may look to be a touch more positive from barrier two here and settle towards the pace. If all goes according to plan, Bubbly Lass will be hard to beat.
Robert Hickmott’s 4YO gelding certainly deserved his last-start maiden victory, and didn’t he do it in style? He was an all-the-way leader and kicked clear to win by over five lengths at Tatura three weeks ago, and now he will look to go on with it in BM58 grade. He’s a natural on-pace runner and will look to dictate terms up front. The race fitness and the claim from apprentice Lachie Neindorf will make Little Caleb hard to run down.
Nathan Hobson and Madison Lloyd team up in the final race of the card with a 5YO gelding who scored impressively last start after coming from the back of the field. He maps to get a similar run in transit here and will be running on late. At decent each-way odds, Easy Sheriff could provide a bit of value in the last leg of the quaddie.
