Swan Hill racing preview
An eight-race card is set down for judgement at Swan Hill on Tuesday afternoon. With the weather set fair and the track bordering on a Soft 5, we look set for a nice midweek meeting in Victoria’s north-west. The rail is in the true position the entire circuit, and the first race will face the starter at 1:30pm AEDT.
Race 1 – Bubbly Lass (#9)We’ll be looking to start the day on the right foot with a 3YO filly who looks extremely hard to beat in the 1200m opener. She was held up at a crucial point on debut at Geelong but still ran on strongly to finish second. She settled midfield in that race, but Harry Coffey may look to be a touch more positive from barrier two here and settle towards the pace. If all goes according to plan, Bubbly Lass will be hard to beat.
Race 6 – Little Caleb (#2)Robert Hickmott’s 4YO gelding certainly deserved his last-start maiden victory, and didn’t he do it in style? He was an all-the-way leader and kicked clear to win by over five lengths at Tatura three weeks ago, and now he will look to go on with it in BM58 grade. He’s a natural on-pace runner and will look to dictate terms up front. The race fitness and the claim from apprentice Lachie Neindorf will make Little Caleb hard to run down.
Race 8 – Easy Sheriff (#8)Nathan Hobson and Madison Lloyd team up in the final race of the card with a 5YO gelding who scored impressively last start after coming from the back of the field. He maps to get a similar run in transit here and will be running on late. At decent each-way odds, Easy Sheriff could provide a bit of value in the last leg of the quaddie.
