Swan Hill racing tips & best bets – Tuesday, 29 September 2020
Nine races are set down for judgement on Tuesday afternoon at the infamous Swan Hill racecourse in northwest Victoria. The first race is set to jump at 12:55pm AEST.
With the rest of the state suffering some wet weather over the weekend, Swan Hill avoided that and the track has come up a Good 4. The rail is out 2m from the 1200-900m mark, out 4m from the 900-400m mark and then true the remainder. It means the rail is in the same spot as it was back when we last raced here on September 11, when on-pace runners seemed to be advantaged.
Tuesday racing tips for Swan Hill
The drop back in distance should not be an issue for Nathan Hobson’s 4YO mare, who broke her maiden tag at Warracknabeal on her fourth start. She led the whole way after jumping nicely from barrier eight and gave nothing else the chance to run her down. Madison Lloyd rated her beautifully out in front and will look to do the same here from barrier 10. Miss Mitzie’s only failings have been when travelling three wide with no cover, so the first 200m will be crucial to the outcome.

Simon Wilde and Dean Yendall will combine in the last race of the day with a promising type in Ginny Ann. This 4YO mare is rock-hard fit and has been racing consistently without winning, but she gets in nicely at the weights here. She is yet to win outside of her debut run back in April last year, but she may not get a better chance to put up her second win than this race.

Richard Laming’s 4YO gelding has come up a nice each-way price after just missing two runs back at Cranbourne. He maps to be up on speed and could get an easy time out in front, which does not look to be a disadvantage. He finds a firm track for the first time since his debut back in February.
