A bumper nine-race card is scheduled for Swan Hill on Friday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Victorian horse racing expert presents his best bets and top quaddie numbers for the meeting. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail will be set in the true position, and racing is set to get underway at 12:55pm AEST.
Swan Hill Best Bet: Rainbiel
The Anthony Chibnall-trained Rainbiel is a mare with plenty of upside and looks a clear best bet at Swan Hill as she resumes from an 18-week spell. Having finished second in the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes last campaign, she clearly has higher targets throughout the spring than this BM78 affair. She finished three lengths off Beau Rossa and 1.5 lengths off Ranting at her last start in the Tobin Bronze Stakes at Morphettville on May 1 and simply looks to have a class edge on her rivals here. The four-year-old daughter of Toronado is drawn perfectly in barrier four under Dean Holland, who will look to settle her just off the leader’s heels. Rainbiel has placed in all of her three first-up runs to date and should be too strong late for this lot.
Next Best at Swan Hill: Easy Single
We were with the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Easy Single when he broke his maiden at Cranbourne on August 15 and suggested he was one to follow at his next start. Having settled up on speed, the four-year-old son of Not A Single Doubt was strong through the line over 1000m and is no doubt going to make this a genuinely run 975m event. From barrier four, Michael Poy should have no issue in finding the front of the field in a race where tactics will be paramount. Having not finished outside of the top two in three career starts, Easy Single is a runner with plenty of ability. If he can sustain a strong sprint, he should be simply too hard to catch in the second leg of the quaddie.
