Sunshine Coast Horse BEtting Preview – 3rd Jan 2021
The first Sunday of the new year will be run at the Sunshine Coast’s Corbould Park. The track is rated a Soft 7, with the rail out +2m from the 1200m – 400m, and true for the remainder of the course.
The first of 8 races is set to jump at 12:40pm.
Nat McCall’s classy gelding came unstuck last start at Doomben when sent around as a short favourite, but we are confident he will bounce back here at a similar quote. Now third up, the four-year-old son of Eurozone steps back to Class 2 grade and gets back to his home track where he was a narrow runner-up here first-up to Garibaldi who has since walked in to win, so the form stacks up. Tiff Brooker is back aboard here, and from barrier 5 they should be able to get a good run in transit in the middle of the pack. He’s a quality animal and should return to the winner’s circle here.

Silesian comes off a monster 13L victory at this track last start, albeit in a two horse race, but he did it ridiculously easy in the 1800m contest. The son of Toronado has won three from fifteen, with all three wins coming on his home track. Kendrick has opted to step him out to 2200m which looks a good recipe here, and with Kyle Wilson-Taylor aboard from gate 9, we expect to see him going back-to-back here.

Chris Waller and Ron Stewart combine in the opener with maiden galloper, Greatest Joy. The top two in the market, Come In Spinner and Jerry Zanda have had 36 starts between them without a victory, so we are happy to take them on here and side with the well bred third starter. The More Than Ready filly steps out to a mile for the first time here, after two solid efforts over 1300m at Hawkesbury and Toowoomba respectively. From barrier 8, she will push forward under Stewart to look for a forward spot and should be in it for a long way.
