What Sunshine Coast Races
Where Corbould Park Racecourse – 170 Pierce Avenue, Caloundra QLD 4551
When Friday, September 24, 2021
First Race 6pm AEST

Friday night racing is back with a Group 1 meeting at Moonee Valley and a competitive eight-race card at the Sunshine Coast. HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the program at Corbould Park, where the track is rated a Good 4 and the rail is out 2m for the entire course. Race 1 is set to jump at 6pm AEST.

Best Bet at Sunshine Coast: Single Memo

A competitive three-year-old race will be run and won in the second, with Single Memo and Shajaea the two winning chances. Jaden Lloyd has partnered the latter in his past two wins, which have both been ultra-impressive at this track and distance, but he jumps off to keep the ride on Single Memo, who was an impressive debut winner at Eagle Farm on September 8. The daughter of Not a Single Doubt raced away from her rivals over 1000m on debut to win by 2.25 lengths under Lloyd, defeating Tesaura and also Menazzi, who won by 2.5 lengths at his subsequent start. The O’Dea & Hoysted-trained filly does rise from 52kg to 56kg and goes from maiden company to Benchmark 65, but she was super when winning, and having drawn perfectly in gate three with Lloyd opting to keep the ride, she can do back-to-back and remain undefeated.

Best BetRace 2 – Single Memo (#6) $2.40 with Bet365

Next Best at Sunshine Coast: Blood Thunder

From Queensland’s leading apprentice to Queensland’s leading senior rider, James Orman partners a smart horse in the penultimate race, Blood Thunder. Trained by Billy Healy and owned by the same connections as Group 1 winner Alligator Blood, Blood Thunder looks to have plenty of ability after winning first-up this prep by 2.5 lengths at this track and distance. Having drawn barrier one last start, Orman got the three-year-old into the box seat and stayed against the rails in the straight to shoot clear and win comfortably. Staying at the 1300m, dropping to 55.5kg and drawing barrier three, Orman should be able to give the son of All Too Hard into a very similar situation as last time, which would make him extremely hard to beat again. This is a touch tougher, but he has the ability.

Next BestRace 7 – Blood Thunder (#12) $3.20 with Bet365

Best Value at Sunshine Coast: Kazza’s Jet

Robert Stenhouse and Adam Spinks combine in the fourth with Kazza’s Jet who looks to breakthrough at start five. After placing third on debut, the daughter of Jet Spur then ran fourth and second at her next two starts, prior to spelling through the Winter. Kazza’s Jet resumed with a solid fifth behind Single Memo on September 8, which we believe is a good form reference that will hopefully be franked in race two. Drawn wide in barrier 16, she will likely come in three barriers after emergencies are withdrawn. Spinks will take the mare forward and look to find a spot, which will be an advantage in a race without too much speed. Up to 1200m will only aid her chances in winning her maiden race.

Best ValueRace 4 – Kazza’s Jet (#9) $19 with Bet365
