Sunshine Coast betting preview – February 19, 2021
Sunshine Coast’s Corbould Park will host eight races this Friday as the Queensland night racing schedule rolls on. The track is a Soft 6, the rail is out +7m for the entire course, and the first field is due to face the starter at 5:53pm local time.
Best Bet: Zoofari
Tony Gollan and Ryan Maloney combine in the sixth with Zoofari, who is second up after going down in a close one last time out at Eagle Farm. She will go forward again over the 1000m and won’t have to do much work from barrier three. The Zoustar mare has a good record at this track and distance, so we expect to see her in this for a very long way.
Stuart Kendrick’s Indeep was a short commodity at Ipswich on Wednesday but was scratched in preference for this, so we are keen to follow him. Indeep trialled very well at this track on February 9 over 850m, winning by 1.5 lengths. Being by Deep Field, he should appreciate the 1000m dash for his racetrack debut.
Stuart Kendrick can make an impact on his home track on Friday night when he saddles up Clever Miss in the third race, a 1400m Benchmark 72. The four-year-old Bel Esprit mare has only ever won at this track but is yet to be tested at the seven furlongs. She has drawn well in barrier six for Jake Bayliss, who will look to stalk the leaders throughout. Her form behind I’ve Gotta Nel, Trengganu, Boss Baby and The Pines is much stronger than anything she faces here, so she should be right in this.
