Sunshine Coast race betting preview – March, 21

Seven Sunday afternoon are set to be run and won at the Sunshine Coast this weekend. The track is rated a Heavy 8 and the rail is out +8m for the entire circumference of the course. Horsebetting.com.au will bring you all of the best bets, value picks and Quaddie numbers, with the first of seven set to jump at 12:45pm.

Best Bet: Zounate

Tony Gollan and Georgie Cartwright combine in the third with four-year-old Zoustar maiden, Zounate. The gelding has had 16 career starts and has been unable to breakthrough yet, despite placing 11 times. He has never missed the placings in seven starts on wet tracks, so his superior wet for could be what he needs to gain an edge. He looks to get the lead all to himself from barrier two and can go all the way.

Best BetRace 3 – Zounate (#1) $1.95 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Tru Blu Tango

Nat McCall’s big grey gelding Tru Blu Tango gets all of the conditions to suit him first-up off a lengthy spell. The five0year-old son of Top Echelon has only been out of the numbers once at the Sunshine Coast and has placed in all five of his six wet track starts which is ideal. Drawn the inside alley under Tiff Brooker, he will push through to either lead or box seat. The fence will be the place to be in our opinion with the rail out eight meters and on the heavy deck could make it hard for anything to make ground. He will be in the right spot and can return as a winner.

Next BestRace 2 – Tru Blu Tango (#3) $3.70 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Shamrock Lu

Shamrock Lu was heavily backed first-up when he was beaten comfortably on a Heavy track at Doomben over 1200m. the three-year-old gelding stays at the 1200m and is dealt with another Heavy track, but this looks much easier and he should be fitter for the run. He looked a bit big in the mounting yard last start, so he should have toned down a fair bit into this second-up assignment. The big straight will suit him and he should get a soft lead despite drawing wide in barrier eight. Michael Rodd has ridden him in a trial and on race day, so he knows the horse well enough to guide him to victory in the opener.

Best ValueRace 1 – Shamrock Lu (#2) $2.45 with Sportsbet
