Corbould Park at the Sunshine Coast will be the host of nine provincial races on Sunday the 11th of April. The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 and the rail is out three metres for the entire circumference of the course. The punters got it right at Doomben on March 17th, backing the Barry Lockwood-trained filly Drizzle from $12 into as little as $2.80 before jump. The I Am Invincible filly swam through the Heavy 10 going to win by two and three quarter lengths over 1200m. She clearly gets through the Heavy going which she will need to be able to do on Sunday given the 8 rating. Drawn well in barrier two, Michael Rodd will take this girl forward to find a spot in the first three or four, giving her every chance to go two straight when it comes to the business end. She looks one to follow through the grades, and the 1400m is going to be to her liking.

Next Best – #9 Derulo
Spill The Beans gelding Derulo has had a change of scenery and is now trained by Kacy Fogden in South East Queensland. The three-year-old won his first four starts at Cairns and Townsville by a combined seventeen lengths, so he clearly was too good for them up there. He finished second in a 0-70 at Doomben in December, and then was tough up on speed to finish less than three lengths off Boomnova on the Gold Coast the week prior to the Magic Millions Race Day. That form is good enough for this Class 4 so he should take some beating. He won a trial in the lead up to this, and has won on a heavy track before which is a positive. He should dictate this under Ronnie Stewart and get back in the winner’s circle for his NQ owners.
