Senior member of TAB warned off by Racing NSW

RACING NSW announced today that it has warned off TAB’s Senior Trading Manager of Thoroughbred Trading Fixed Odds Betting Mrs Sally Snow effective immediately following her failure to adhere to directions of the Stewards.

Snow was repeatedly directed by Racing NSW Stewards to produce her mobile telephone(s) in relation to an investigation and inquiry into betting activities, which she refused to do under common law privilege against self-incrimination.

Snow also informed the Racing NSW Stewards that she also intended to assert common law privilege against self-incrimination and not provide any information or evidence at any inquiry.

Racing NSW insisted that failure to turn over her mobile phones directly contravened their efforts to maintain the integrity of the sport and acted swiftly to warn her off until she agreed to fully cooperate.

Racing NSW’s Chief Executive Peter V’Landys said the governing body would continue to “pursue the matter” despite Snow’s lack of compliance.

“Racing NSW has zero tolerance for those that obstruct and hinder the maintenance of the integrity of thoroughbred racing in New South Wales. We have set a precedent in warning off, and/or excluding from participation, those persons that jeopardise the integrity of racing and it is important that we maintain that strong stance.

“Even though Mrs Snow has refused to cooperate, we will continue to pursue the matter to ensure the integrity of thoroughbred racing has not been compromised.”

It is understood that Snow has elected to tender her resignation to TAB after Racing NSW’s decision.
