What Eagle Farm Races
Where Eagle Farm Racecourse – 230 Lancaster Rd, Ascot QLD 4007
When Saturday, September 30, 2023
First Race 12:03pm AEST

The Brisbane Racing Club will host a very competitive nine-race card at Eagle Farm Racecourse this Saturday afternoon. Although there is a lot of rain predicted on Thursday, we still expect to be racing on a Good 4 track throughout the program. The rail will be in the +4m position for the entire circuit, with racing set to kick off at 12:03pm AEST.

Best Bet at Eagle Farm – Beast Mode

After returning with a dominant win first-up at this track and trip on September 6, Beast Mode from the David Vandyke yard will step up to Saturday Benchmark 75 grade second-up. This son of Better Than Ready has never finished outside of the top two in his six career starts and has been first over the line in four of those runs. With the only other speed influence, Flaming Conquest, drawn outside of this guy, we expect Beast Mode to find the front from barrier six and hold the rail before kicking clear in the final 300m.

Best Bet

Race 7 – Silk #6 Beast Mode (6)

4yo Gelding | T: David Vandyke | J: Justin Huxtable (58.5kg)

Next Best at Eagle Farm – Instagood

The Tony Gollan-trained Instagood was a dominant winner last start, where she defeated three runners that she will meet again in this race. After settling midfield on the fence from barrier one, the three-year-old filly was given a patient ride and railed through to record a 1.1-length victory. This daughter of Written By has only had three career starts, recording two wins and a placing. She has drawn the pole once again, and with Ben Thompson taking the reins, we expect her to bring up back-to-back wins for the first time.

Next Best

Race 3 – Silk #6 Instagood (1)

3yo Filly | T: Tony Gollan | J: Ben Thompson (57kg)

Best Value at Eagle Farm – Titanium

Barry Lockwood has given Titanium a four-week freshen for this assignment, with the seven-year-old gelding seemingly enjoying the bigger break between runs recently. On his last start, the son of Smart Missile settled near the rear of the field from a wide barrier and ran an honest race to finish fourth, only beaten 2.2 lengths by Star Of Chaos. With a lot of speed expected in this contest, we should see Justin Huxtable take this guy to the back of the field and show his powerful finishing burst in the final 300m to run over the top of the slowing leaders.

Best Value

Race 5 – Silk #3 Titanium (16)

7yo Gelding | T: Barry Lockwood | J: Justin Huxtable (58kg)

+1200 with Neds
