What Eagle Farm Races
Where Eagle Farm Racecourse 230 Lancaster Rd, Ascot, QLD 4007
When Saturday, October 14, 2023
First Race 11:38am AEST

The Brisbane Racing Club will host a very competitive 10-race card out of Eagle Farm Racecourse this Saturday afternoon. With warm weather and no rain on the forecast this weekend, we expect the track to be in perfect condition and stay in the current Good 4 rating for the whole program. The rail will be in the +0.5m position for the entire circuit, with racing set to kick off at 11:38am AEST.

Best Bet at Eagle Farm: Mission Of Love

After recording a dominant win first-up, the John Symons & Sheila Laxon-trained Mission Of Love got too far back at her most recent start, but she ran home nicely into fifth place over 1500m at this track. This daughter of The Mission will appreciate the extra 100m when she steps up to 1600m on Saturday, as well as the extra speed that is expected. With Jaden Lloyd jumping back aboard for his third ride on this four-year-old mare, we expect Lloyd to settle mid-field from a good barrier (7) and give Mission Of Love every chance to return to the winners circle once again.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Silks#17 Mission Of Love (7)

4yo Mare | T: John Symons & Sheila Laxon | J: Jaden Lloyd (56kg)

Next Best at Eagle Farm: Tojaki

Tojaki made her Queensland debut for new trainer Stuart Kendrick at the Sunshine Coast last start, where she dominated her rivals by 3.5 lengths and broke her maiden in fine style. This lightly raced four-year-old mare was only having her third start when she broke her maiden. After such a strong performance, we expect her to take natural improvement going into her second run this preparation. On Saturday, this daughter of Zoustar will step up in grade to a Class 3 and in distance from 1200m to 1300m. With Jake Bayliss retaining the ride, Tojaki should get a similar ride from a wide barrier and prove too strong in the concluding stages once again.

Next Best

Race 5 – silks#16 Tojaki (10)

4yo Mare | T: Stuart Kendrick | J: Jake Bayliss (54kg)

Best Value at Eagle Farm: Liquor

The Tony Gollan-trained Liquor recorded her third win at her fifth start when she ran away from her rivals at Ipswich over 800m on September 27. After jumping well and settling outside the leader, this daughter of Spirit Of Boom let down with an explosive turn of foot to boot clear to defeat Pianist by 1.5 lengths. The runner-up has since come out and won at the same track and trip, which suggests the form out that win is strong. With Cejay Graham sticking with this mare and taking 2kg off her back, we expect Liquor to jump well and settle in the first four. With using her customary turn of foot to give us a big sight in the home straight.

Best Value

Race 7 – Silks#11 Liquor (8)

4yo Mare | T: Tony Gollan | J: Cejay Graham (a2) (57kg)
