Seven races will be run and won on the Sapphire Coast this Tuesday for the annual Winter Cup meeting. With the track rated a Soft 5 and the rail out +3m from the 800m to the 350m before the cutaway rail applies, every horse should get their chance. HorseBetting.com.au brings your the best bets for both the Winter Cup and Winter Sprint, as well as a top pick for the remainder of the program. The first race is due to jump at 12:30pm AEST.
Winter Cup: Magico Hombre
Theresa Bateup and Kayla Nisbet combine in Tuesday’s feature with Magico Hombre. The three-year-old gelding has won four of his 16 career starts, and while his last three runs haven’t been too flash, they have been behind some handy gallopers and up in grade. The son of Magic Albert has won twice at this track, and the inside alley points to a forward showing. Up in grade but down in weight looks a recipe for success.
Jamie Stewart and Jordan Mallyon combine in the Winter Sprint over the 1207m course, which looks a winning recipe. The son of Magic Albert was a nice winner at Moruya last start, making amends for his seven-length defeat at Randwick the start prior. The four-year-old has won and placed second in his two previous starts at the Sapphire Coast, and from the good gate (4), he is going to get every chance to win again.
Four-year-old Stella Baia has only had two career starts to date, winning on debut before failing to beat a runner home at Canberra back in November when a big drifter in the market. Now fresh after six months, the Pins mare should find the front under Brodie Loy from barrier seven and be too speedy over 1007m. This looks a nice race for her to return in.
