Sandown Hillside betting preview
The twilight racing season continues on Wednesday afternoon with an eight-part card on the Hillside circuit at Sandown. The track has come up as a Good 4 with the rail set out 8m for the entire course, so we’re set fair for a cracking day of racing. The first race will jump at 3:40pm AEDT.
Race 7 – Spring Break (#13)Mick Price and Dean Yendall combine with Spring Break, who last time out broke his maiden in fine style at Hamilton. The four-year-old gelding is yet to finish worse than second in this campaign, and in those two defeats he was beaten by a combined half a length. He maps to settle towards the rear of the field, but he looks to have the best turn of foot in the race and should be hard to hold out.

Race 6 – Toyz On Fire (#12)Fresh off a five-month spell, Toyz On Fire looks extremely hard to go past in the sixth on Wednesday. She chased home the likes of Cherry Tortoni and Johnny Get Angry in the Listed Taj Rossi Final at Flemington and was far from disgraced. We’re hoping she has progressed nicely from her two-year-old season into her three-year-old campaign; with a bit of natural improvement, she should be hard to beat at Sandown. She maps to be towards the rear of the field but possesses an electric turn of foot which should be enough to get the job done.

Race 3 – Pufnstuf (#2)Ern Ewert’s seven-year-old gelding has been racing in career-best form of late. He has two impressive victories from his last three starts, including a strong win when running on from the back of the field at Wangaratta last time out. He gets out to the 2400m for just the third time in his career and regains the services of Derby-winning jockey Lachie King, who has had success aboard the gelding on two previous occasions. From barrier 10, King may look to go back early on and then look to flash down the outside late on in the running.
