Sandown Hillside betting preview – February 10, 2021
The Hillside track at Sandown will host an eight-race card on Wednesday afternoon as the twilight racing season continues in Victoria. The track has come up a Good 4 for racing, while the forecast shows clear skies. The rail is out 6m for the meeting, and history shows on the Hillside track that each runner will get their chance throughout the day. The first race is set to jump at 3:40pm AEDT.
Best Bet: Irish Butterfly
The Henry Dwyer-trained Irish Butterfly has returned in impressive style so far this campaign, and the ultimate gear change looks to have proven successful with consecutive runner-up performances since becoming a gelding. Although he has found himself in trouble throughout the running at time, he continues to hit the line strongly, suggesting a win is not too far away. From barrier two he should not be too far away from the speed throughout, and if Damien Thornton can get him in clear galloping room early on in the straight, he should prove a touch too classy for this field.

Next Best: Tuvalu
A debut victory does not come any more impressive than what Tuvalu put in at Warrnambool on January 25. He was sent around as a well-backed commodity and bolted in by seven lengths in front of the handy Tycoon Bucks, who has since come out and won her next start at Ballarat. Despite the step up to a BM64 in town, the three-year-old gelding should be too fast for this lot. From the wide barrier, Ethan Brown should have no issues in getting him to the front of the field in what looks to be a barrier-to-box type of win in the opening leg of the quaddie.

Best Value: Bella Tiara
Two starts back, the Matthew Williams-trained Bella Tiara managed to get the job done at Caulfield when beating a handful of classy gallopers. The race she meets here is no harder than what she beat that day, and her last-start effort over 1400m at Sandown suggested she will appreciate the step up to the mile for the first time. Dean Yendall sticks on board and is yet to miss the placings when riding Bella Tiara, so the pair will take some beating in the second leg of the quaddie.
