2020 Sandown Cup betting preview

The Listed Sandown Cup over 3200m is one of the feature events at the Sandown Hillside track on Saturday afternoon and opens the quaddie for the blockbuster 10-race card. The staying event of the day worth $150,000 brings together a field of 11, with plenty of these competing against each other in recent weeks.

It had been a long time between drinks for Sin To Win, but he never looked like losing the BM96 on Melbourne Cup Day. He settled towards the back of the field but sustained a run from the 600m mark and kicked clear under a hold over the last 150m to score by two-and-a-half lengths. He goes down in weight by 2kg for this assignment and should prove hard to hold out.

It was a horror run in the Melbourne Cup for Etah James, who spent the first half of the race three wide with no cover. That tough first half showed when the leader upped the speed and she quickly dropped out to finish towards the rear of the field. She does go up 6kg off her effort in the Melbourne Cup, but with the in-form Glen Boss aboard, it would be silly to rule her out.

Anthony Freedman and Mark Zahra will be looking to turn around Realm Of Flowers’ poor form since she came over from South Australia. She didn’t show much in the Bendigo Cup and has yet to finish better than fifth in four runs in Victoria. She is one who settles towards the back of the field, but if she can recapture some of her autumn form, then she looks to be a contender at big odds.
