Sale Racecourse is set to host an eight-race card on Wednesday afternoon from 12:25pm AEST. The track is rated a Soft 7, and the rail will be set in the true position for the entire circuit. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets, top odds and free quaddie numbers for the meeting in Victoria’s Gippsland region.

Best Bet: Bermadez

We will save our best bet for the last race, where the Mike Moroney-trained Bermadez returns from a nine-month spell. The Tavistock gelding has been scratched from a couple of races prior to this, with connections clearly looking for a track with the sting out of it. His debut win at Geelong in August last year was one of pure dominance as he jumped from a wide barrier, headed straight to the front of the field and never looked like being headed. He was quickly put away after that win and has not been seen since. His first-up run sees him jump to 1400m, and from the wide barrier (14) we expect Jamie Kah to get him across to the front of the field and take up the running. If Bermadez delivers anything like what we saw at Geelong, he should be too strong for this lot.

Best BetRace 8 – Bermadez (#1 $1.70 with Sportsbet

Next Best: All Of Brighton

All Of Brighton for Patrick Payne was a well-backed favourite at Caulfield on April 24, but could do no better than a three length defeat in fourth. The Needs Further gelding comes to Sale third up from a spell and the drop back from 1200m to 1000m should not be a deterrent to her chances. We do expect Michael Dee to settle him in the second half of the field, but if it is a day where you can make up ground from the rear of the field he should be savaging the line late and proving to be too good for his rivals.

Next BestRace 6 – All Of Brighton (#4) $2.25 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Perennial

The Peter Moody-trained Perennial resumes at the Sale 1400m, and despite wanting to get out over further, she looks well placed to give this a tilt. The Per Incanto mare has two runner-up performances from as many starts at Sale, as well as two second-place finishes from three starts over 1400m. From the wide barrier we expect Jason Benbow to take her to the rear of the field, and if the leaders can make this a genuinely run 1400m event, we expect Perennial to finish over the top of her rivals in the penultimate event on the card.

Best ValueRace 7 – Perennial (#4) $14 with Sportsbet
