Sale Races Betting Preview – January 31, 2021

Sale will host a big nine race card on Sunday afternoon where the track has come up as a Soft 5 and the rail is in the true position. With rain expected over the weekend we could see a downgrade into the Heavy region so we strongly recommended finding wet trackers throughout the card and it should pay dividends.

The first at Sale is set to jump at 12:50pm AEDT.

Best Bet: Race 8 – Jimenez #4

Douglas Arnold saddles up his five-year-old gelding Jimenez who is low flying this campaign and in his last start ran to within a length and a half of the progressive Zac De Boss. If we get into the heavy range come Sunday the $3.60 will be long gone as his two career wins have come on heavy going from three starts. The drop back from a Saturday grade BM64 to this country BM64 is also a big plus. He maps to be the leader of the field here, and with a quiet time of it out in front, good luck catching him in the third leg of the quaddie!

Next Best: Race 4 – Perfect World #11

The Anthony Freedman trained three-year-old filly Perfect World is back from a four month spell with her last run being in the Oaks trial at Flemington when well in the market. Perfect World got too far back in the Oaks Trial on September 23 and was quickly sent for a spell following a campaign that included a hat trick of runner up performances. No doubt she is a filly with plenty of talent, and having run to within a length and a half of Succeed Indeed is good enough form to get the job done in this Sale maiden. From the wide barrier she will head towards the rear of the field and hopefully round one the field in a few strides when entering the home straight.

Best Value: Race 6 – Riverdance Lad #1

In the opening leg of the quaddie, the Robbie Griffiths trained Riverdance Lad looks well placed to continue his good from this campaign following a win at Stony Creek on January 1. He settled up on speed in that win at Stony Creek and considering he won on a Heavy 8 we have no doubt he will handle the going at Sale on Sunday. If we do get plenty of rain he has run in the quinella four times on Heavy going with the two wins from five starts and is a clear good bet at a price on the Sale card.

Best ValueRace 6 – Riverdance Lad (#1) $9.00 with Sportsbet
