Sale Best Bet: The Gauch
Ciaron Maher and David Eustace send their five-year-old gelding The Gauch to the Sale 1006m following a narrow defeat at Caulfield on September 18. Having seemingly hit the front too early when travelling keenly behind the leaders on that day, he was left vulnerable late and was ultimately run down in the shadows of the winning post. Despite stepping back from a metropolitan race to a country BM78, this is by no means an easy win, although he is drawn to get every favour from barrier one. There is no doubt if The Gauch can bring his best form on Wednesday, he is clearly the best bet on the Sale card, especially with Josh Richards on board claiming 1.5kg.
