Sale Best Bet: Veranskova

Cindy Alderson and Ben Melham team up with the returning Veranskova, who is back from a six-month let up. The Written Tycoon filly was beaten 1.5 lengths at Pakenham on debut, where she settled well back but made up considerable ground late, and then was sent to the paddock back in December. If she brings a similar effort to Sale, she will prove hard to hold out. Her rivals look to be nothing special, so as long as she is screwed down for this first-up run, she should be simply winning.

Best BetRace 3 – Veranskova (#10) $1.45 with Sportsbet

Next Best for Sale: Facemask

The Peter Moody-trained Facemask comes to Sale on the back of a second-place finish at Sandown on May 26 when sent around as favourite. He ran into one better on that occasion but gets a BM64 on Wednesday that is his for the taking. Having drawn barrier 16, Damian Lane will have the son of Zebedee settled in the second half of the field. If Facemask brings the form that has seen him finish in the top three in each of his last three starts, he should be too good for this field as he looks to break a run of outs that stretches back to his debut win.

Next BestRace 7 – Facemask (#5) $2.50 with Sportsbet

Sale Value Bet: Our John Boy

In the second leg of the quaddie, we are hoping Our John Boy can overcome his poor performance at Cranbourne on May 21. Prior to that run he had begun his career in fine form, including a dominant all-the-way victory at Pakenham when breaking his maiden two runs back. He will be up on speed throughout, and under a well-rated ride from Michael Poy he will take some catching at a nice price on a day where it may pay to be up on the pace.

Best ValueRace 6 – Our John Boy (#2) $46 with Sportsbet
