Sale races betting preview – March, 28
A nine race card is set down for judgement at Sale Turf Club on Sunday afternoon. The track is rated a Soft 7 for meeting after experiencing plenty of rain throughout the week and with the rail in the true position, we expect the rail will be the place to be on Sunday afternoon. Racing is set to get underway at 12:20pm AEDT as we look to finish the weekend on the punt in front.
Best Bet: Ellmaknifico
It was a soft debut win for the Maher & Eustace-trained Ellmaknifico at Bendigo on February 23 when winning by close to three lengths in impressive fashion. The Mafki gelding settled slightly better than midfield and eventually hit the front over the final 200m to kick clear and showed he has plenty of wins in him throughout his career. From barrier four, under Ben Allen we expect a carbon copy run for Ellmaknifico where he settles midfield and with a sharp turn of foot we expect him to make it two wins from two starts at Sale on Sunday afternoon.

Next Best: Fatigues
With two wins from four starts on rain affected going, the James Cummings-trained Fatigues will certainly appreciate getting to a track with the sting out of the ground. His win two starts back at Flemington suggests that if Michael Walker can keep him settled with cover in the first half a dozen in the running, then the Hallowed Crown gelding does look hard to go past. With a genuine 1400m expected it should suit Fatigues to a tee and if he is given clear galloping room at a critical time then he should have plenty in the tank to grind out a victory in the second leg of the quaddie.

Best Value: Elvaric
Elvaric for trainer Susie Wells will be looking to build on her three wins on raina affected going throughout her career. The Street Boss mare chased home the likes of Energy Within and Scream Dream when well held at Pakenham four weeks ago, but prior to that was an impressive winner over this track and distance on February 12.From barrier seven, expect Michael Walker to settle the mare midfield with cover, and if she can get a cart into the race there is no reason why she can not be fighting out the finish in the opening leg of the quaddie.
