Rosehill horse racing preview
Nine races will be run and won at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday afternoon. The track is rated a Good 4, and the rail is in the true position for the entire circumference of the course. Race 1 jumps at 1:15pm local time.
It looks a tricky card on Saturday at Rosehill, so it might be a good idea to halve your typical bet, but we think Sliders can get the job done in the opener. The Godolphin two-year-old filly was a good winner on debut at Newcastle and looks ready to step up to 1100m here at start two. Rachel King sticks aboard the daughter of Street Boss and should find a decent enough spot from barrier three. In a race with plenty of unknowns, Sliders looks the one to beat.

We’ll be off to a flyer if Almania can go one better than he did in his Australian debut, when he was beaten in a photo at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup Carnival. He only has the one win to his name, which came at 1400m, but he boasts some handy enough staying form and is bred to get a trip. Hugh Bowman rode him at Flemington and sticks aboard in a bid to make amends for what wasn’t the greatest ride you’ll see. The form out of that race has been good, and Almania can frank it yet again by winning here.

Tommy Berry and Team Hawkes combine in the fifth with the lightly raced Valdostana. Having had just eight career starts, the mare has won twice and been runner-up on four occasions. Both wins have come on a dry track, which she gets here, and she has consistently run well when fresh. From the wide alley, Berry will more than likely get back on the four-year-old, which should prove beneficial given the speed that is engaged in the race. She was runner-up in her only start at Rosehill back in August in the same grade, so we think she can go one better here.
