Rosehill racing form and free tips, Saturday June 3

Rosehill tips

PUNTERS can get some early value at Rosehill this Saturday and we have form and free tips for the entire nine-race card.

The quality on show is evident with horses such as New Universe, Dagny and Snoopy – with the latter racing in the featured race of the day.

The Octagonal Handicap features a group-quality field that will attract punters. The field includes the likes of Danish Twist, Snoopy, Sir Bacchus and Extensible – that’s some quality thoroughbred action and you can get the best early odds with CrownBet.com.au.

Rosehill starts with the Tab Handicap where some talented juveniles take to the track.

Race 1 – Tab Handicap (1200m)

There was plenty of support for Kanga’s Eye when it was late scratched last time out and we’re expecting the support to come again. The Cummings-trained filly finished second on debut in the Gimcrack at odds of $81, but it will be much shorter for this and it has drawn ideally for its first race since October. Adam Hyeronimus takes the ride from barrier three.

Revenire was a stylish debut winner at Gosford and it’s in the right stable for this. The Darren Beadman-trained colt scored a narrow win in May, but it ran a quick 1000m time and that’s a positive going into this. The two-year-old by Lonhro is bred to enjoy the longer distances so stretching out to 1200m is ideal. This is harder, but it should go close.

Race 1 tip: Kanga’s Eye to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Pro Rata ATC Membership (1200m)

New Universe is a former Kiwi runner which has made an impressive in Australia. The Chris Waller-trained gelding has won both starts on this side of the Tasman and both have been big finishes down the outside. It does need the pace to be on up front, but it’s the clear class runner of this field and it has the ability to carry the big weight. Punters should expect decent odds given the rise in opposition.

Mediterranean has its fair share of ability, but needs to start showing it on a consistent basis. The Snowden-trained three-year-old is a winner of only one from eight starts, but it has competed against some star juveniles. It has finished in behind Astern, Impending and Deploy at its last four starts so it must be considered down in grade here and punters should get a fair each way price.

Race 2 tip: New Universe to win at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 3 – Schweppes Handicap (1500m)

Dagny has all the potential to win this, but the big weight of 61kg will make it tough. The Waller-trained mare was a strong winner over a similar field on this track last start and staying in this class is ideal. It does have to carry a big weight, but on the scale of things it’s not too bad and there are no last start winners amongst the opposition. Should go close in this.

Wahng Wah is a four-time winner for Kris Lees which was last seen storming home behind Dagny. The four-year-old by Casino Prince sat last throughout before making a big run down the outside and the extra 100 metres for this should suit. It’s another the rises up in weight, but the 2kg claim from Rachel King takes it to a winnable weight and it should test Dagny.

Race 3 tip: Dagny to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 4 – tab Highway Handicap (1400m)

Call The Captain was a steady winner at the Sunshine Coast last start and it could repeat the effort. That win came over 1800m, but it did win over this distance three back by over two lengths so the drop back in distance won’t be an issue. It receives a 3kg claimer on its back and that brings it right into contention.

Autumn has found its winning groove after winning its last two and it should be followed. The former New Zealand mare scored a 4.3-length win two back and it scored nicely by just over a length at Canberra last start. It handles all track conditions and despite drawing in barrier 13 for this, it could show up at the light weight.

Race 4 tip: Autumn to place at Bet365.com

Race 5 – McGrath Estate Agents Handicap (1500m)

Wayanka didn’t quite find the line last Saturday at Randwick, but it’s worth a chance on the quick back up. Its form prior included back-to-back wins at Canterbury where it defeated subsequent winner Pelorus Jack and that form is worth following. It has drawn well and should put itself in the race.

Walk The Streets looks to have a fair amount of ability and it went close last start behind Pelorus Jack. The Waller-trained filly was a nice winner at Gosford in January and has been lightly tried since. The daughter of Street Cry is bred to enjoy this distance and it will likely settle off the speed from the wide draw.

Race 5 tip: Walk The Streets to place at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 6 – Tabcorp Handicap (1200m)

Reincarnate didn’t have the best of luck at Rosehill last start and its second-up form is solid. The Beadman-trained gelding has won and placed twice when having the run under its belt and the four-time winner at this distance will find this easier than its most recent run. It finished sixth behind Bonny O”Reilly which is good form and punters should expect a positive showing in this.

Firsthand is a winner of three from seven starts and it was last seen finishing off nicely behind Osark at Scone. The Hawkes-trained gelding gets in well on the weights at 54kg and it will use the inside barrier draw to its advantage. It has performed well in the past when sitting on the speed, so expect jockey Christian Reith to be positive from the outset.

Race 6 tip: Reincarnate to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 7 – Eremein Handicap (1800m)

Supply And Demand is on the quick back up after running second last Saturday. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding looked the winner at Randwick before So Willie flew late to down its hopes of picking up its fourth career win. The son of Sebring finished fifth in the Scone Cup prior to that effort so the class is there and it’s a dangerous chance in this with only 51kg on its back.

Tucanchoo will improve with time and there was plenty to like last start. The Hawkes-trained gelding finished off strongly at Flemington and it won its only start on this track. It won the Winter Cup on this track in July last year which is good form for this and this distance is right up its alley. It could be the overlooked runner in the field.

Race 7 tip: Tucanchoo to place at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 8 – Octagonal Handicap (1400m)

Snoopy is a winner of six from 19 starts, which includes a solid win here in November. The four-year-old resumed with a placing behind Clearly Innocent in the Luskin Star and it has subsequently won a group one. That’s cracking form for this and it has drawn to get the run of the race in barrier three. Look for solid market support.

Extensible finished off well enough in the Dark Jewel Stakes to be a potential winner here. The Snowden-trained mare hasn’t won for awhile now which is a concern, but its form at Rosehill is good and it rarely goes a bad race at this distance. It’s running low on chances, but this should be right up its alley.

Race 8 tip: Snoopy to win at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 9 – Theraces Handicap (1500m)

Liapari has drawn wide in barrier 16, but it likes to drop back and storm home. The Waller-trained gelding produced a big finish behind Invinzabeel last start and it drops in grade for this. The weight does increase, but it handles all track conditions and bookmakers should be offering a good each way price.

Louie Sea Kay has been around the mark this season with some handy placings and it could be an upset chance in this. The four-year-old is a past winner on this track and given its form coming into this, it shouldn’t be discounted.

Race 9 tip: Liapari to win at Bet365.com
