What Rosehill Races
Where Rosehill Gardens – James Ruse Drive, Rosehill NSW
When Saturday, January 15, 2022
First Race 12:20pm AEDT

HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst has previewed the 10-race card at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday and brings you his best bets, value bet and quaddie numbers. The track is rated a Soft 7 and the rail is out 3m for the entire course. The first race of the day is set to jump at 12:20pm AEDT.

Rosehill Best Bet Of The Day – Sky Command

In Saturday’s Midway, Gary Portelli resumes his talented three-year-old filly Sky Command. The daughter of Deep Field has had four starts, winning twice and placing second in a very narrow margin in her most recent start on September 1 behind Miss Dior. Sky Command has had two trials leading into this first-up run, so she should be fit enough to fire over 1200m. The filly is ideally drawn in barrier five, which will allow apprentice Reece Jones to stroll forward, find the front and look to keep this filly running with only 55kg on her back. We are keen on her chances.

Best BetRace 4 – Sky Command (#6) $2.60 with Ladbrokes

Next Best Bet – I Say Hello

Kris Lees and Sam Clipperton combine in the opener with I Say Hello, a four-year-old Iffraaj mare who has won three of her nine starts. I Say Hello resumed with a good run on Boxing Day when narrowly defeated by Lady Of Luxury at Randwick over 1200m. Lady Of Luxury has since won again, and is also a fancied galloper in Saturday’s $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (1300m), so that looks the right form for this. Lees has now opted to step this consistent mare up to 1300m, a distance that she is already a winner at, so she should be in this race up to her ears. From barrier five, Clipperton will be able cruise over and settle in the one-one, which should make her hard to beat.

Next BestRace 1 – I Say Hello (#1) $5.50 with Sportsbet

Best Value At Flemington – Madame Pommery

Chris Waller will saddle up two-year-old filly Madame Pommery in her first race start on Saturday in a 2YO Handicap over 1100m. The filly by No Nay Never has been scratched a couple of times due to heavy tracks and wide barriers, but she won’t have that excuse on Saturday from barrier one. Madame Pommery has had the benefit of two trials, running second in her first, before being well educated to win her most recent on December 21 at Canterbury. She looks to have enough speed to be able to use the inside alley to her advantage and lead from the inside alley, which could work in her favour in the concluding stages as she won’t have to do any work. We’ve liked her trials enough to be with her on debut at a nice price.

Best ValueRace 2 – Madame Pommery (#9) $15.00 with Sportsbet
