Randwick-Kensington betting preview – March 17, 2021

Eight metropolitan races will be run on the Kensington track at Royal Randwick on Wednesday afternoon, and HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets, top odds and quaddie picks for the meeting. The track is rated a Soft 7, the rail is out +2m for the entire course, and the first race is set to jump at 1:45pm local time.

Best Bet: Mr Mosaic

Mr Mosaic was scratched from a harder race than this last Wednesday where we fancied him, so we are going to butter up again and go and stand in the queue waiting to collect. Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou have a great record when resuming gallopers, and this four-year-old entire is no different, winning both of his first-up runs to date. Drawn in barrier six under apprentice Reece Jones with his 3kg claim, Mr Mosaic will go straight to the front and be too slick for them over the 1100m.

Best BetRace 4 – Mr Mosaic (#1 $4 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Sing A Love Song

John O’Shea’s Sing A Love Song has been screaming out for 1400m and finally gets it here in a two-year-old maiden. After competing in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes at his most recent start, the Your Song colt will appreciate the massive drop in class and added distance on Wednesday. Tom Marquand will hop aboard and do the steering from barrier 12, which will not be a disadvantage given this horse gets back in his races anyway. There is enough speed to set it up for him to show what he is capable of.

Next BestRace 2 – Sing A Love Song (#8) $4.20 with Sportsbet

Best Value: All Hallows’ Eve

John O’Shea has a nice selection of runners on Wednesday and is in form at the right time of year, so we are happy to follow him again with last-start winner All Hallows’ Eve. The three-year-old Sacred Falls filly was very unlucky first up at Gosford on a Heavy 9 track before coming out and winning by two lengths as an even-money favourite at Newcastle last time out. Back to 1100m does look a somewhat interesting move given she won at 1200m last start and is bred to get out over a touch further, but on a borderline Heavy track with speed on, the 1100m could feel more like a six-furlong dash, especially by the last race on the card. She will get back from barrier 14, but we expect her and Regan Bayliss to be finishing off wide out under the arches.

Best ValueRace 8 – All Hallows’ Eve (#12) $6.50 with Sportsbet
