The Mark Newham-trained three-year-old is on the seven-day backup after running second to the unbeaten Passive Aggressive at Flemington on Saturday. He should get a good run from barrier four under Tom Sherry and he will be fit enough to run a big race.

Best Bet at Randwick – Kanazawa
James Cummings and Glyn Schofield combine in the last race of the day with the smart Kanazawa. The three-year-old son of Lonhro won stylishly on debut in December before Cummings rose the bar for the rest of the prep. The spell seemed to do him the world of good, as he returned with a very encouraging second to Moon Reader at this track over 1200m on May 28. Now out to 1400m and onto a drier track with only 54kg on his back, Kanazawa can give this a real shake at a great price.

Ciaron Maher & David Eustace send their classy galloper Junipal north to Sydney following some underwhelming runs this preparation in the southern states. The six-year-old son of Reset had some very good form a couple of seasons ago before having a long lay off. He resumed earlier in the year with an encouraging run at Flemington in February, but he has been a touch plain since. He now goes from a Group 3 over the Adelaide Autumn Carnival back to an off-season handicap at Randwick where he will carry just 55.5kg following Ellen Hennessy’s claim. This is winnable, so get a piece of the double-figure quote at Bet365.
