A nine-part card is set to be run and won at Belmont on Saturday afternoon, and our Western Australian form analyst has come up with some betting tips and quaddie numbers for the meeting. The Listed Raconteur Stakes is the featured event on the card, with nine three-year-olds set to battle it out over 1400m for the purse of $100,000. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is out 6m for the entire circuit, and the first race is set to jump at 11:57pm local time (1:57pm AEST).
2021 Raconteur Stakes betting tips
In the featured event of the day, we expect the Chris Gangemi-trained Written Matter to be hard to beat despite the double-figure quote with online bookies. Having begun his career with consecutive victories, the son of Written Tycoon has proven to be tactically versatile and will appreciate stepping up to 1400m third-up. Considering he drops 5kg off his last start win over the Belmont 1300m on May 26, he looks the one to beat as Shaun McGruddy hops on for the first time.
Race 7 – Written Matter (#5)Best Bet at Belmont: Tri For Us
We were with the Adam Durrant-trained Tri For Us for her win over the Belmont 1600m on May 22, and that run suggests she’ll be hard to beat come Saturday. The Vital Equine filly showed a touch of class over the concluding stages to go on and score by close to two lengths after settling midfield. From barrier two she should get a cosy run-in transit under Chris Parnham, and with three wins to her name from her past four starts she clearly has confidence on her side. She remains at the mile and looks the clear best bet on the card in the opening leg of the quaddie.
Race 6 – Tri For Us (#5)Next Best Bet: Madam Torio
Martin Allan’s three-year-old filly Madam Torio returns from a five-month spell and looks hard to beat despite needing to carry a big weight. Despite drawing the wide gate, Kristy Bennett will use her 3kg claim to her advantage and look to employ this girl’s early speed and dictate terms throughout. The daughter of I’m All The Talk has two wins from three first-up efforts, and with a trial win to her name prior to this run she is seemingly screwed down and raring to go. With three wins from five starts over the 1000m, the form suggests she will take some running down.
