Racing administrator Noel Bracks dies

Prominent racing administrator and owner Noel Bracks has died aged 85.

A Sydney solicitor, Bracks was a vice-chairman of the Australian Jockey Club before its merger with the Sydney Turf Club to form the Australian Turf Club.

He was also a past president and life member of the NSW Racehorse Owners Association.

Among his best horses was top stayer Donegal Mist who won the 1990 Group One Metropolitan along with several other Group races including the Moonee Valley Cup.

Bracks is survived by wife Ellen and his greater family.

A Requiem Mass for Bracks will be held at Holy Name of Mary (Villa Maria) Catholic Church, Mary Street, Hunters Hill, on Thursday at 2pm.
