Best Bet at Warwick Farm – Sur La Mer
In race five, Chris Waller and Hugh Bowman combine with impressive last-start winner Sur La Mer in a Benchmark 72 Handicap over 1400m. The four-year-old mare by Nicconi won by more than three lengths at this track over 1300m on June 1, so the extra 100m should present almost no new challenges to her. Now building a nice record from her 14 starts, Sur La Mer looks to get every possible chance to add to her three wins on Monday afternoon.

Next Best at Warwick Farm – Jal Lei
We thought that John O’Shea’s filly Jal Lei could have been competitive on Saturday at Randwick, but they scratched there and opted to run in this Benchmark 72 Handicap instead. The three-year-old by Sebring has won three of her six starts, while her past two starts were the only two times she has missed the placings. In saying that, those two runs were at group level, finishing behind Fangirl in a Sydney Group 2 and then finishing down the track behind Annavisto in a Group 3 at Flemington in March. She should find this much easier and go close to winning.

Warwick Farm Best Value – Mystic Mermaid
We will give her one more shot this preparation. Chris Waller’s filly Mystic Mermaid is ready to win after running a drum in three of her four starts this camaign. The three-year-old by Fastnet Rock is in search of a dry track, so to finally get off a heavy surface and onto a soft should be a big benefit on Monday. Drawn the inside alley for this 1600m event, Chad Schofield will be able to land just off the speed, giving his mount a terrific chance to break her maiden albeit in a three- and four-year-old Benchmark 64. The $6 with online bookmakers is more than reasonable.
