PuntDrunk: Jamie Kah shows the boys how it is done at Caulfield!

Punt Drunk Daily – 9/5/21

A very happy Mother’s Day to all of those absolutely ripping women out there we get to call our mum’s and just remember punters, your presence is not good enough anymore. They want presents nowadays.

Today’s #PuntDrunk has two headline acts from yesterday’s racing including an out and out star, plus an explosive journeyman who is still only a three-year-old!

A Five Star Performance

Jamie Kah, deadset how bloody good is she? Should we just refer to her as the postie? She continually delivers, week in and week out. Kah opted to stay and ride at Caulfield yesterday instead of returning home to Adelaide to ride at Morphettville for South Australia Derby Day. Her decision was justified riding an amazing five winners throughout the program, and bookended it with a couple of handy up and coming stars. In the opening race she partnered with Generation for the Maher & Eustace stable who stamped his claims into contention for the JJ Atkins next month at Eagle Farm. Kah then paired with Mick Price’s Ayrton in the finale at Caulfield who was another who took his record to three wins from three starts and solidified himself as the favourite for this year’s Stradbroke Handicap. Throw in Streetcar Stranger, Excelman and Pintoff throughout the day and Kah deadset had a day of it at the Heath.

Explosive Jack the Derby King

The Tasmanian Derby, the ATC Derby and the South Australia Derby. It is a fair old trophy cabinet that Explosive Jack has put together in his debut campaign. The Maher & Eustace-trained colt grabbed consecutive Group 1 victories in different states to continue his amazing start to his career. Having won in Tassie, Adelaide, Sydney, Kembla and even out at Swan Hill it is one hell of a story for the son of Jakkalberry. We challenge you to find us a runner who has been this successful after racking up this many frequent flyer points in their debut campaign!

Sunday Racing Tips – May 9, 2021

Punt Drunk’s best bet of the day

The Lee and Cherrie Curties-trained Byron is yet to finish outside of the quinella in any of his three career starts and looks hard to go past at Mudgee. His racing pattern is easy to like, he jumps to the front of the field and tries and makes it a genuine tempo. At the mile and from barrier seven he should get a nice cart across the front of the field and be strong for this lot late on in the piece.
