Jordan Childs has a long road to recovery ahead of him following a horrific fall at Moonee Valley on Friday night in which he parted ways with his mount Zacouver when entering the home straight. That saw him miss the ride on Fabergino in the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes on Saturday and has subsequently ruled him out of some important rides this weekend. It looks like we will not see J. Childs in a race book for the rest of this year, and Grahame Begg will no doubt be on the lookout for his next Group 1-winning jockey at certain stages throughout the year.

With Craig Williams suspended, connections of the All-Star Mile favourite Behemoth needed to find a jockey for the Futurity Stakes. When Willow is on the sidelines, it’s not a bad thing to have Damien Oliver as your backup option. Ollie has been in fine form and no doubt will do a decent job on the back of Behemoth, who is chasing his third Group 1 at Caulfield this weekend after taking out the Memsie Stakes and Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes in the spring.

Who doesn’t love an early Sunday afternoon punt at Colac? Well, imagine being a punter who loves an early quaddie as well. Yesterday’s paid a tick under $62k after winners saluted at $101, $18, $17 and $23. If you managed just a small percentage of that, then fair bloody play to you! We are extremely jealous. It almost makes you sick knowing that in the past three days two $101 shots have saluted and we have been on neither. Don’t have to be dead to be stiff, eh?
