Plumaro ready for big test in BRC Sires’

Plumaro will race in the BRC Sires' Produce Stakes.
Promising filly Plumaro has pleased trainer Kevin Kemp ahead of the BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Star Queensland filly Plumaro has performed well in a jump-out in preparation for her sternest test in the Group Two BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Doomben.

Plumaro gets back in her races and charges home which has trainer Kevin Kemp confident she will appreciate the 1350m on Saturday.

She has had four starts for two wins and two seconds and has been impressive each time she has stepped out.

The filly hasn’t started since finishing second to Boomsara in a $250,000 feature race at the Gold Coast on March 17.

But Kemp has no worries about Plumaro going into the Sires’ without a lead-up run.

“She had a little break and has been back for a while. She won her jump-out easily and she is ready to go on Saturday,” Kemp said.

Senior jockey Jim Orman will replace apprentice Jag Guthmann-Chester on Plumaro.

“Jim is experienced in Group races now and has had plenty of luck for us with horses like Sold For Song,” Kemp said.

Plumaro will probably press on to the Group One JJ Atkins (1600m) where she is safely in the field.
