First Race 1:23pm AWST

It is Pinjarra Cup Day in Western Australia on Sunday, with 12 horses set to go around in the Listed feature. HorseBetting’s WA racing analyst presents you with his top pick in the Cup, as well as his best bets for the remainder of the afternoon. Ideal racing conditions are forecast, with the rail in the true position and the track rated a Good 4. The first of nine races is set to jump at 12:40pm AWST.

Listed Pinjarra Cup Best Bet – Neufbosc

Chris Parnham and his father Neville combine in the Cup with Neufbosc. The seven-year-old gelding has not won for some time, but his best form for this race is certainly good enough to win on Sunday. The son of Mastercraftsman was a bit plain in the South West Autumn Cup at this track and distance a fortnight ago, but he drops 1kg from that effort and maps a bit nicer from barrier four rather than barrier one which he jumped from two weeks ago. He’s a Perth Cup winner in the past at Group 2 level over 2400m, so he shouldn’t find Listed racing too difficult. He can bounce back.

Pinjarra Cup Best BetRace 8 – Neufbosc (#2) $5.50 with Neds

Best Bet – Savage One

In the final event on the program, Adam Durrant saddles up Savage One, a four-year-old gelding who is looking to go one better than his first-up run when beaten as an odds-on favourite at Geraldton. The son of God Has Spoken has had nine career starts for four wins and three minor placings, with arguably his best win coming at this track and distance in just his third career start. From barrier eight, Warwick will take the gelding forward in the 1000m event, and that is where we anticipate he will stay throughout. He should be too classy.

Best BetRace 9 – Savage One (#4) $3 with Bet365

Next Best – Rebelzone

Chris Parnham and Darren McAuliffe combine in the third race of the afternoon with three-year-old filly Rebelzone. The daughter of Territories is yet to win a race in her four career starts, but a nice trial victory leading up to this first-up assignment looked as though she has worked out this racing caper and is ready to win on Sunday. She is yet to place in either of four starts either, but her three most recent starts have come in more competitive metropolitan-grade races, so she should definitely appreciate coming back to weaker class at Pinjarra. She will be very hard to beat under the state’s best jockey.

Next BestRace 3 – Rebelzone (#8) $2.60 with Ladbrokes
