First Race 1:25pm AWST

Pinjarra Race Club is scheduled to host a bumper 10-part card on Sunday afternoon, and HorseBetting.com.au’s WA racing analyst presents his best bets and quaddie picks for the day. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is set true, and racing kicks off at 1:25pm AWST (4:25pm AEDT).

This meeting was postponed from Saturday afternoon and is now set to be run on Sunday

Best Bet at Pinjarra – Spin The Knife

Our best bet of the day comes up in the opening leg of the quaddie, when the Luke Fernie-trained Spin The Knife steps out over 1200m. He absolutely bolted in at Ascot on January 24 when leading all the way, and he will look to do something similar on Saturday. That was over 1100m, but the extra 100m should not be a hinderance to his chances. The three-year-old son of Snippetson is a free-flowing frontrunner, and considering he drops 4kg down to 56.5kg from his last start, he looks to be well-placed. If he can hold the lead following the early pressure from horses out wide, we expect Chris Parnham to dictate terms and make sure Spin The Knife proves too hard to run down.

Next Best Bet at Pinjarra – Beret

In the penultimate race of the day, we are hopeful that the Adam Durrant-trained Beret can make it five wins in succession. With four straight runner-up efforts, followed by four straight wins, this five-year-old mare out of Helmet is racing in a true purple patch and looks the goods here. Despite not hitting the frame in two starts at Pinjarra, she is clearly racing in career best form and she should be winning this. Clint Johnston-Porter will look to take a sit off the speed and get a nice tow into the race, where he should have a lap full of horse. She may not put a big margin on his rivals, but her will to win is second to none in a field like this. The $4.20 available at Bet365 is a nice price for Beret.

Best Value at Pinjarra – Eeyore Wayz

In the final race of the day, the Raquel Reid-trained Eeyore Wayz will be looking to make it consecutive wins at Pinjarra. The five-year-old gelding out of My Admiration has had two starts at the track for two wins including a smart win over 1300m on January 13. He steps back to 1200m, a distance he has won at the track. He looks to lack a bit of class on the likes of Clairvoyance and Son Son, but what he does have is a strong will to win. The two previously mentioned runners will look to make this a genuine sprint throughout, which will set it up perfectly for Eeyore Wayz to finish over the top of his rivals. The $12 looks a fair price with Sportsbet and one we are happy to take.
