Pandemic (right) has trained on from a provincial win to score for Godolphin at Randwick.

The pool of Godolphin three-year-olds is deeper than most with Pandemic adding his name to the list with his win at Randwick.

The gelding came to Saturday’s benchmark 70-race over 1100m off a debut win at Wyong over 1000m on July 23.

On that occasion he beat the Gerald Ryan-trained Heart Of The Oak with the filly a decisive winner at Newcastle a week ago.

Darren Beadman was at Randwick representing trainer James Cummings with Pandemic winning on the same afternoon Bivouac built on his two-year-old success with victory in the Vain Stakes at Caulfield.

“He’s been a late-maturing type being by Sepoy and is stoutly bred on his dam’s side as a half-brother to Earthquake,” Beadman said.

“He couldn’t have been more impressive on debut.

“He’s a proper racehorse and a very exciting horse going forward.”

Pandemic ($2 fav ) was inside horses looking for a run in the straight and when Tommy Berry got him out, he showed a superior turn of foot to beat Maddi Rocks ($5.50) by 1-1/4 lengths.

“It was very exciting what he did,” Berry said.

“He let down from a standing start and not many young horses are able to do that.

“Maddi Rocks, who I’ve got a good opinion of myself, had about a length and a half on him when she quickened so for him to go from being stopped in his tracks to picking up, charging past and beating a good filly that easily is exciting.”
