The Synthetic track at Pakenham Racecourse is scheduled to host an eight-race card on Monday afternoon and Horsebetting’s Victorian horse racing tipping expert present his best bets, top odds and free quaddie numbers. It is forecast to be a perfect winter’s day for the meeting, so there will be no excuses for fancied runners across the meeting that gets underway at 1pm AEST.

Pakenham Best Bet: Rising Sphere

In the opening leg of the quaddie, we anticipate the Phillip Stokes-trained Rising Sphere can bring up consecutive wins over the Pakenham 1000m following a dominant win at this track and distance on August 17. Having demolished his rivals with plenty left in the tank, it is no surprise to see him on the quick backup and despite needing to lug 64kg, he looks a clear best bet on the card. The rise of 2kg in the weights should hardly affect him, having sat four-wde the trip last time out and still put over four lengths on his rivals and should be too good for his rivals once again on Monday.

Best BetRace 5 – Rising Sphere (#2) $1.70 with Ladbrokes

Next Best at Pakenham: Turf Flyer

The Lyn Shand-trained Turf Flyer returns to the Pakenham Synthetic following a close up third-place finish over the 1200m on August 3. The four-year-old son of Turffontein settled just outside the leader on that day and fought doggedly, only to be headed over the final 50m. He steps up to the 1400m here and having finish in the minor money on three occasions from four runs, we expect Turf Flyer to being up a deserved maiden victory. Josh Richards hops on board claiming 1.5kg and from barrier one, we expect him to use that claim to his advantage from the gun draw where he should ultimately prove too good in a front running display.

Next BestRace 3 – Turf Flyer (#7) $4.40 with Sportsbet

Best Value at Pakenham: Western Wingo

Now with Michael Jones, Western Wingo has always shown some sort of ability, but through an injury-riddled career and some hard luck in races, he has yet to put it all together. Having not found himself in the winner’s stall since January 2020 at Ararat, he showed enough over the 1200m at this track last time out to suggest he was one worth following. Despite being beaten five lengths, he hit the line strongly and the step up to the 1400m looks ideal second-up from a spell.

Best ValueRace 7 – Western Wingo (#3) $10 with Sportsbet
