The Pakenham Racecourse is set to host its second meeting in the space of two days, with an eight-race card scheduled on Thursday night on the synthetic track. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets, top odds and free quaddie tips for the evening, which is set to get underway at 5:30pm AEST.

Best Bet: Distant Lover

The Peter Moody-trained Distant Lover finished half a length off an impressive winner over this track and distance on April 29. The Dissident filly comes into this third up and raring to go, but she will need a little bit of luck early in the running from barrier eight. With Carleen Hefel on board with her 1.5kg claim, we expect the pair to settle up on speed just outside the leader. As long as Hefel does not get trapped three wide without cover, it is hard to see any of the experienced runners beating her; it is only the unraced brigade that may cause an issue.

Best BetRace 2 – Distant Lover (#5) $2.10 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Kermy

Kermy finally broke his maiden tag at his sixth start with a dominant all-the-way run at this track and distance on April 29, and we are hoping the penny has now dropped and he can go on with it here in this BM64 over 1400m. With $5.50 on offer and a similar run expected from the wide barrier, it is hard to see how the son of Kermadec gets beaten in the penultimate leg of the quaddie. With little speed drawn underneath Kermy from barrier 13 (10 after the emergencies are withdrawn), Michael Poy shouldn’t have too many problems getting him across to the front of the field. From there, the pair will be hard to run down.

Next BestRace 7 – Kermy (#6) $5.50 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Sir Warwick

We are happy to side with last-start maiden winner Sir Warwick in the opening leg of the Pakenham quaddie. Despite doing plenty wrong in the running over this track and distance on April 29, the Mick Price runner was simply too good for his rivals. From barrier one, we expect Michael Walker to have the Written Tycoon gelding up on speed, and if afforded a touch of luck in the home straight, Sir Warwick should be bringing up consecutive victories.

Best ValueRace 5 – Sir Warwick (#5) $7.50 with Sportsbet
