The night racing season in Victoria rolls on for another week, and HorseBetting.com.au is here to bring you the best bets and quaddie tips for the eight-race card at Pakenham on Thursday. With the track rated a Soft 5 and the rail out 8m from the 1000m to the winning post and then 6m for the remainder, it should be no disadvantage to be up on speed throughout the night. Racing is set to get underway at 6pm local time.
Best Bet: Americain Angel
The way Americain Angel broke her maiden over the 1400m here on March 25 suggests she should relish the step up to 1600m for her first assignment out of maiden grade. The filly out of the Danny O’Brien stable showed heaps of ability when stacking up her rivals heading into the home turn and then kicking away from them. Her five-length victory should have her in good nick third up, and given she has finished no worse than second in her four-race career, we expect the daughter of Americain to be too good once again.
Race 5 – Americain Angel (#10)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1365820_05]
Next Best: Mimi’s Award
Having chased home the smart Steinem over the 1400m here on March 18, Mimi’s Award looks awfully hard to beat. The Shamus Award filly from the Dabernig & Hayes stable should settle in the first four in the running with a bit of cover and should be there or thereabouts when Daniel Stackhouse starts cracking the whip. Having gone down by less than a length to Steinem, who brained his opposition in town at his next start, Mimi’s Award will take a power of holding out.
Race 4 – Mimi’s Award (#8)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1365820_04]
Next Best Again: Way To Go Paula
After being competitive in Listed company behind the likes of Hindaam and La Mexicana during the spring, we expect Way To Go Paula to run a smart race on Thursday night as she returns from a spell. With Jamie Kah on board from barrier 13, she will need a little bit of luck early on to settle in the moving line. If she is afforded that, there is no reason why the Nostradamus filly cannot be fighting out the finish in the third leg of the Pakenham quaddie.
Race 7 – Way To Go Paula (#11)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1365820_07]
