Kenny Rae is eyeing a trip to Australia with his multiple stakes winner Prom Queen.

“Plan A is to take her to Brisbane for the winter,” said the Ruakaka horseman, who trains at Ruakaka with his wife Lisa and their daughter Krystal Williams.

The winner of eight of her 11 starts, Prom Queen hasn’t raced since she finished fourth in last month’s Group 3 Bonecrusher Stakes (1400m) at Ellerslie.

“She’s going terrific on the beach and she’s loving life,” Rae said.

Prom Queen’s stablemate and half-brother Prom King will make his second appearance when he runs in the NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race (800m) at Riccarton on Saturday. The Shamexpress gelding was a debut fifth at Ruakaka in the spring
